have changed the template and …

I was one of the 3 bidders who bid against each other to acquire the domain forum, a few months ago and I lost the auction to a well known businessman from the domain industry. I visited the forum a few days ago and there was no change with the same template etc… But today I checked it again and they have changed the template of the domain forum and it seemed to me like they have also let the search engines such as Google to index the forum posts and threads.

Previous owners would like the domain forum to be private and they didn’t allow the search engines to crawl the posts and threads at the forum. There was only one link indexed at Google previously. But today , there are 166 links being indexed (visit this ( forum indexed ) link to see it) and according to my forum experience, over next few days, there would be more and more indexed posts and threads in Google.

Is it all new content (postings) on Domain State or does it include archived material?

I ask because if it was considered “private” before , members (former or current) may not want their older postings showing up on a search engine.

I think most of the old content would also be indexed unless the owners specifically arranged them not to be indexed. I doubt it.

  3. Interesting change in indexing philosophy with the new owner… I do wonder what the members think of that. Not that it’s a bad thing, just different than what the standard was. I’m not a big visitor to the site, so no a large impact to me personally.

Yes, Mike. Some members would not like their domains to be indexed.

I have a good idea. How about someone buy the AWESOME domain name and open up a new forum! That would be the best thing to do. I think the name would be a great place to have a new forum that highlights all the things going on in the other forums.
