It is strange. I let “StudentTour.com” domain auction go not noticing StudentTours.com recently sold for x,xxx

It was a bit of strange. Just a few days ago, I was participating in the domain auctions (3 domains) and I was focussing on one domain, GreatThemes.com which I acquired.

At the same time, there was another domain auction “StudentTour.com” running and there was only low xxx when I switch my attention completely off the domain, “StudentTour.com”.

I didn’t realize that its plural domain, StudentTours.com was just sold at Sedo for $3,000. If I was aware of that domain sale, I might be interested to acquire “StudentTour.com“.

Another Sedo auction for a generic product domain. SkirtingBoard.com domain at Sedo auction.

Privacy Domains

June 3, 2010 by

One of the biggest markets for search and discover destinations at the end user level is the privacy or security domain. Security names for online Web activities and personal device integrity can explain or promote software products and elaborate on the concepts for laymen. Privacy for anonymous surfing and resistance to clickjacking and scripts is something everyone with a keyboard wants to know more about.

Privacy is a big money industry today, with several tiers of software companies competing for the big corporate and end user level dollars. The keywords are hacking terms like phish, bit, virus, macro, rootkit, and other words that signify the online threat of malware and file piracy. Affiliates for  revenue domains in the security or privacy niche can make domainers big money with upcoming new releases.

Another hot .org domain sale. Hairtransplant.org sold for $20,000

It was interesting to see the domain sale of Hairtransplant.org for xx,xxx range. What a seller? The domain, hairtransplant.org was sold for $20,000. The domain was sold at the Sedo domain marketplace. My fist guess for the keyword “Hair Transplant” was around 20,000 EXACT searches per month.

Now when I checked the Google keyword tool, I found out that the keyword “Hair Transplant” searched around 60,000 times per month (EXACT search) with CPC (cost per click) around $6.25. There are over 1 million EXACT phrase search results in Google.

It was a really strong .org domain sale. Many congratulations.

Interesting domain sale, thefirst.com sold for $20,000

I was looking at the recent domain sales and I found the domain sale of theFirst.com for xx,xxx range interesting. The domain was sold for $20,000 and I would think that it was most likely bought by an end user. When I look at the whois data, I see the email address of the owner is with @the1st.com and therefore I believe it goes to the rightful end user.

Because it is an end user domain sale, it is not that relevant to see the stats. The domain has been registered since 1995 and there are around 12,000 EXACT searches per month for the keywords “the first”. It was not a bad sale for  the domain seller.

I had conjuntivitis but still managed to win the domain I like, FootballScore.com at Latona’s domain auction

I had a conjuntivitis and sore left eye and it was “irritant conjuntivitis” according to the symptoms. I opened my eyes when having shower and hot water with some shampoo entered my eyes mostly into left eye. Since then got a red eye and I bought some eye drops to soothe it and it is getting better now. I don’t stay online more than a few minutes at each time.

But I still managed to win “FootballScore.com” at Latona’s auction. “FootballScores.com” sold at Moniker for nearly $40,000 in 2008. I always wanted to develop a live score site such as LiveScore.com and I needed a good domain. My main interest is football and ideally like to develop a “live football score” website. I would develop this domain unless I get very strong offer around the price of its plural counterpart domain sale price in 2008.

Business.tv auction finished now at $100,999!!!Finally bidder 7 and 9 finished bidding against each other.

There were many bids for the premium domain, Business.tv  and it just ended at $100,999. The auction was heated up by Bidder 7 and Bidder 9 at the Sedo domain auction for the purchase of the domain Business.tv .

You will read about some interesting facts regarding the bidding war for the domain later in this blog. The bidder 7 seemed very much determined to own the domain and he or she had knocked down other bidders on the way.

Business.tv is surely a very good domain and the bidder 7 started the bid at $11,000 knocking down bidder 6 whose highest bid was $10,500.

Then Bidder 7 got over bidder 8 with a bid of $26,555. After that, the bidder 7 had to compete with bidder 9 who initially bid up to $31,500. Then there was some bidding against each other between bidder 7 and bidder 10 who finally didn’t want to go over $44,500.

The bidder 9 came into the auction again and there was bidding ONLY from bidder 7 and bidder 9 for the domain afterwards. The bidding went all the way from $45,500 through to the final sale price of $100,999.

Today the premium .tv auctions at Sedo domain marketplace ended a few minutes ago.

I can see some domains went for low to mid xx,xxx. Are the winners domainers or end users?

There were a few interesting .tv domain auctions. Business.tv was quite hot and there were many bids and the hot .tv domain auctions went on for a few minutes after the end of other .tv domain auctions.

Some of the top .tv domain auction results are:

Home.tv sold for $31,000
Job.tv sold for $25,500

I was bidding for some domains but unfortunately something went wrong with my laptop and could not do any bidding. Good luck to those winners.

Weddinggift.com and weddinggifts.com sold for six figures.

March 11, 2010 by

There was a six figure domain sale for a pair of domains, weddinggift.com and weddinggifts.com. The domains are sold for $160,000 and they are of good quality and they have solid keywords to achieve six figure domain sale. The pair was sold at Sedo domain marketplace and it was a good domain sale.

Let’s look at some stats for the keywords. The keyword “wedding gift” appeared around nearly 2 million times in Google and for the keyword “wedding gifts“, there were around 2.5 million google search results. Estimated cost per click is around $1.5 per click and there are around over 700,000 google phrase searches per month for the keywords altogether. I think it might have been sold to an end user or to a serious investor.
