According to Godaddy.com the name Dirt.com vended for the bog casino at $100,000.00 this week. organic? You’d think so, but the new owner is rumored to be interested in other dirt, the gossipy celebrity rand. The domain shorty Temp.com sold at Latona’s auction site for $80K and the copyright nom HSBCbank.com for an alleged $18,954 had the domainers wires’ buzzing. The identities of the owners of these names had domainers guessing right left and center.

The names at Pool.com are showing their true colors as new domain opportunities come up for bidding. The poker name gamblingtalks.com could have international appeal. Goodmaids.com coud be a training site and a job site at the same time. Castingpoint.com is one way to transform the traditional Hollywood casting couch to an online portal.

Hepatitisdoctors.com could have global appeal as hepatitis is one of the most serious health threats currently acting around the world. Expelled.org is an intriguing way for perhaps some ex-students to tell their story. Areyoustressed.com could be a great quiz site or a place for visitors to let off steam. As a community forum its reach is unbound.

Bookdoctor.com could be a fix it portal for ailing and damaged books. Many short four letter domains coming up, consonant rich, get your acronyms now! Rentatowncar.com has mileage on it. And for the domainer crowd, linksponsors.com has amazing traffic potential. Socialgadgets.com has an opportunity to bring social networks and devices together.

The deleting domains basket at Pool.com also brings new goods to market. Artificalworlds.com could be a huge gallery of gaming walkthroughs and tips as well as the graphic art for same. Needgame.com taps the same audience. The three letter domain aob.info could have end user potential.  Linuxchange.com and webmastercontent.com bring the heat.

Domaining.com closing auctions helped me to win an auction

I clicked “Closing domain auctions” on the homepage of Domaining.com mistakenly a few days ago. I thought “Closing domain auction” was just for domaining.com “bargain domain auctions”. But I realized it was for other domain auctions such as Sedo etc… I am a bit orientated to “hosting” keyword (I do own hosting domains such as ProfessionalWebHosting.com, WebHostingSites.com, ReviewHosting.com, HostingBoard.com , FreeDomainHosting.com, HowtoBuildaWebsite.com etc…”).

Therefore, I put “hosting” keyword in the search bar of “Closing Auctions” and there was “ReliableWebHosting.com” domain auction in th list. I won the domain aution at the end and the domain transfer just finished today.

According to Google stats, there are nearly 1.7 million PHRASE search results in Google. There were over 8,000 EXACT searches per month for the keyword “reliable web hosting”. The CPC (cost per click) is $12.8 per click and it is very competitive keyword for the hosting related businesses.

Domain-ing.com is at today Rick Latona’s auction

Domain-ing.com is at the Rick Latona’s auction today and the Domaining.com’s owner may be interested in it. Todaydomain auction is Andrew Rosener’s Low Reserve Auction and there are only a few hours left for the auction to end. The domain auction for Domain-ing.com starts from $1. For me, the domain has no value and I would not even take it free considering the time and energy you have to spend for domain registration, renewal etc…

But it is an interesting domain auction because many domainers know Domaining.com.

Will I keep on making mistakes at Sedo? Today, I just started another low reserve auction AGAIN!!

I made a mistake a few weeks ago when I decided to try my luck by starting a very low reserve auction at Sedo. The domain name was WebcamPlace.com and the auction was started at $100. There was no more bid and I ended up selling the domain with a small loss.

Today, I have started a premium domain, low reserve auction at Sedo AGAIN!!! The domain name is PetInsuranceComparison.com and there are around 30,000 EXACT searches per month for the keywords and CPC (cost per click) is around $14 per click. I value the domain in xx,xxx range but I am trying my luck again. You may visit the Sedo domain auction here. I am not sure this time now because last time there were no more bids even at $100.

Let’s see. May visit the petinsurancecomparison.com auction here.

Pool Skim for Tuesday May 4th 2010

The deletions list at Pool.com is churning the domain waters. Dot bizzers and dot orgers will have a field day. The enterprising possibilities inside these names hint at opportunities almost taken. NB: a rare thing, slim to none deletions in the .com and .net markets for tomorrow’s droplisting auctions. This does not including names tagged a premium names or continuing auctions. Daliart.info is an example of the best type of name. Notable also: Tutorfinders.com is a great directory or personnel site.

For this day mainly portfolio builders in .us and .info will have good results. Christianrealtors.info could be a huge untapped networking portal. The name governmentloans.info could spark huge seo based discoverability. A good day to shave bidding reserves and scan the next day’s auction unless specific tld involvement is already invested.

The dataIQ.org name could be an interesting club of data freaks. Cool-shop.org could a community of (ac/refrigerator) online vendors. Reallycool.biz might be a promotional business opportunity site.  Contentdone.biz could be a domainers finished text files clearinghouse.

I won 4 domains thanks to Rick Latona’s Daily Domain Auction today.

Today is the first day for Latona’s daily domain auctions. There were some good quality domain names at today’s auction. It was interesting because all the domain auctions start at $1 and there was no reserve. I participated in around 10 domain auctions and I now won 4 domains.

The domains I lost out were Gymnasiums.com, Vacuuming.com, GamblingTours.com and CountryLakes.com and I stopped bidding after the amounts which I thought were worth paying as a domainer.

The domains I won are:

WhatIsMyCreditScore.com ( $15 CPC for the keywords. I plan to develop this domain.)

Blackjackers.com (I like this domain.)

iLoaner.com (1998 domain)

Alabamians.com

I think that the Latona’s daily domain auctions would do well.

Skimming the Pool for Friday, 4/9/2010

Skimming Friday’s Pool.com hotlist one sees old friends and new players. Mydomainbank.com is an elusive catch still auctioning. And flashwebdesign.net shows that the dot-net world is still cranking. Craftfanatic.com and holidaysBritain.com are still tracking bidders.  Deleting domains furnish such surprises as KentStateUniversity.com. Nastyroads.com sounds like a AAA don’t-go-there site. Getpaidforyouropinions.com is long but to the point. Four character DTRV.com also deletes tomorrow.

Business.tv auction finished now at $100,999!!!Finally bidder 7 and 9 finished bidding against each other.

There were many bids for the premium domain, Business.tv  and it just ended at $100,999. The auction was heated up by Bidder 7 and Bidder 9 at the Sedo domain auction for the purchase of the domain Business.tv .

You will read about some interesting facts regarding the bidding war for the domain later in this blog. The bidder 7 seemed very much determined to own the domain and he or she had knocked down other bidders on the way.

Business.tv is surely a very good domain and the bidder 7 started the bid at $11,000 knocking down bidder 6 whose highest bid was $10,500.

Then Bidder 7 got over bidder 8 with a bid of $26,555. After that, the bidder 7 had to compete with bidder 9 who initially bid up to $31,500. Then there was some bidding against each other between bidder 7 and bidder 10 who finally didn’t want to go over $44,500.

The bidder 9 came into the auction again and there was bidding ONLY from bidder 7 and bidder 9 for the domain afterwards. The bidding went all the way from $45,500 through to the final sale price of $100,999.
