It is strange. I let “StudentTour.com” domain auction go not noticing StudentTours.com recently sold for x,xxx

It was a bit of strange. Just a few days ago, I was participating in the domain auctions (3 domains) and I was focussing on one domain, GreatThemes.com which I acquired.
At the same time, there was another domain auction “StudentTour.com” running and there was only low xxx when I switch my attention completely off the domain, “StudentTour.com”.
I didn’t realize that its plural domain, StudentTours.com was just sold at Sedo for $3,000. If I was aware of that domain sale, I might be interested to acquire “StudentTour.com“.
Twitter, Wikileaks Data named in U. S. Court Orders

Talk about the cat that ate the canary. Remember when Twitter was just a funny sound birds made? Wikileaks, the Australian website now synonymous with expose information on the scale of the infamous Pentagon papers, is in the news again. Wikileaks, Wix, for short, is surely the domain hybrid of the decade, marrying the Wikipedia lexicon of data integrity to a brand of Internet age journalism. Wikileaks is now the target of a privacy demolishing attempt by the United States Government to acquire Twitter data in the form of messages form and to its principal news sources.
But if Wikileaks is Australian and America is another nation, how can Uncle Sam breach privacy with such a long sword? The Wix (Wikileaks) site now says the U.S. wants private messages, contact information and personal details of founder Julian Assange, Pfc. Bradley Manning and others. Wix also claims that Uncle Sam ordered Twitter not to disclose its court order action to Assange or any of the others under investigation. Remember when Twitter was just a funny sound birds made? Now it’s the faith and hope of new media freedom, like Iceland.
Twitter, one of many social network and media messaging sites that utilize wireless high speed technology for communications between individuals with private accounts, affirmed its practice of disclosing investigation and interest of government into their account . Webmasters and domainers everywhere are watching the Internet privacy of history sniffing, data trading, and marketing programming for abuses against individuals without their knowledge. While such actions are draped in the mantle of august justice, they actually wear the mantle of an embarrassed administration as well.
The Twix scandal (Twitter plus Wikileaks) and legal machinations trying to oust Wikileaks sources will be closely watched by all citizens interested in preserving and protecting their rights to privacy. Birjitta Jonsdottir, an Icelandic citizen, got news of her subpoena Friday. The Virginia court that landed its order in San Francisco based Twitter has no known link to the newly dead Pentagon official John Wheeler, killed by a homicide this week. Found in a Delaware landfill, the former Pentagon official (and West Point alumni) is still a mystery.
Wheeler, 66, had been working on promoting discussions about cyber-defense among governments, industry and academia, according to a company statement. A veteran of the Reagan, Bush and Dubya administrations. Wheeler is characterized by media statements as outspoken and a true patriot”.He even started a discussion forum online which had a host of curiously posthumous entries, as late as December 28th (2010). Wheeler’s 225 pound body was found December 21st, 2010. Wheeler’s phone, which he was known to post on his site from, has been found. (Authorities may want to check his Twitter account).
Domains Posting Big Numbers for Q4

Moving into the fourth quarter for 2010, domains are picking up velocity in the auction sector. Typing-test challenger url ipo-installment4.com collected a stunning $100,000 in recent bidding frenzy, reports greatdomains.com. Outdoorliving.com bagged $68K and also shorty name cscm.com collected $20K and passed go. Environmental shocker blackocean.com swirled at $6K, that’s a bookmark to remember.
Even more action in the four figure rodeo kept wannabe domainers ogling the sales tally. Curiosity buy www.cocomama.com vended for 12,000 £ , that’s one to tell your kids about. Huge niche topper rawdiet.com collected a raw $10,000, tapping the green foods traffic happening now online. Social possibilities abound with the big ticket name allhere.com sold for $9,999. And the positively MLB name buysteroids.org batted one outta the park for a cool hotdogging $10,000.
Pool Skim for Saturday August 27th

The Pool.com auction channel features ongoing deletion and drop lists values in premium and first-drop tiers of selective bidding. The domain 0salestax.com makes a fabulous shopping portal or store directory. Any Ebay vendor would kill to be on that list. The dropping nom aprcreditoffers.com answers its own question.
The domain obucks.com could be a green re-use listing portal or a (gag!) appraisal site. That would be a site people would pay to get their wares off of.
Variants of 1-800 lazer eyes are vending in a herd. 1040-extension.com does not seem too taxing. 14th snap.com and 1800gymnastics.com could tumble to big domain sale flips. 1800webuild.com could be edifying. The name 1st2bid.com is a likely auction favorite.. 1websiteaday.com could be a domain fliing destination. Lots of 247 names moving through the list, like 247apps.com.
2coolforwork.com is a site that may or may not make the grade. 2fixcredit.com might be a good one for short paying short spellers. More at Pool.com….

Recently there have been a huge interest in the “insurance” domain names thanks to the recent discovery of the sale of Insurance.com for over $35 million dollars. There is currently an insurance domain running at Sedo domain marketplace. The domain is DentalInsuranceComparison.com and currently the bid (reserve met) is very low.
Petinsurancecomparison.com was sold for $11,100 and if you compare with that price, current reserve or bid is very, very low.

Food Truck Race Burns Servers

The Yahoo ads and food network site for the Great Food Truck race has been down for some time, which must mean record demand has blown a fuse at the NOC or that someone forgot to recharge whatever Iphone it is running on. Nevertheless, the Great Food Truck race pits seven food trucks, three of them from Los Angeles, against hot and cold ice cream competitors.
The American TV road trip Odyssey taps the hot food truck trend. Coverage form a Google search the day of the premiere renders results not from the source. News is everywhere from TVsquad to the LA Weekly to Entertainment Weekly, just no originating domain bandwidth is available. Pity. Usually getting information about a TV premiere is a bit easier, especially online.
What a waste of SEO and active links! Looks like whomever blogs a website about this will get plenty of hits.
It’s a gutsy move using Yahoo banners and prominently displayed advertising online to promote a that-night series premiere of a roach-coach reality show, and then not have servers or links running when the click on the banner loads. Could this be the start of “un-advertising?” Either that or whomever hosts the Food Network site has some competition worries from any web hosting company that can form a service offering quote.
Insurance .info domain sale; insurancequote.info domain sold in low xx,xxx

After I have read an interesting news about the acquisition of Insurance.com website for around $35 million US dollars by a business firm, I don’t find it surprising to see the domain sale of InsuranceQuote.info for low xx,xxx range. The domain was sold through Sedo domain market place and the sale was mentioned at Dnjournal.com domain sale column this week.
It was interesting news because I recently acquired InsuranceComparison.com (development in the process). Both “insurance quote” and “insurance comparison” got high CPC (cost per click) over $15 per click. “Insurance comparsion” was searched around half of the search volume of “insurance quote” keyword. But after analysing the keywords, I think “insurance comparison” is better than “insurance quote (because of being singular and not plural keyword)” and this insurance .info domain sale even makes me harder to part with my domain.
Impressive .at domain sale; tracker.at sold over $20,000

It was interesting to see the domain sale of Tracker.at for over $20,000 recent. The domain, Tracker.at was exactly sold for 18,000 Euros and it is equivalent to $23,235. It was an impressive sale for a .at (Austria) domain. I could recall Job.at was sold in xxx,xxx range a few months ago.
I have registered following .at domains a few months ago when Eurodns was offering a massive discount on .at domains (registered until 2017).
Theme.at
Consolidation.at
Diagnosis.at
Grocery.at
Impotence.at
Medication.at
Practice.at
Settle.at
Slimming.at
Submitted.at
Accepted.at
If interested in any or all of them, contact me via admin (at) deliciousnames.com (replace (at) with @ ).

The domain, YYY.com was sold for mid xx,xxx and it was a rare LLL.com domain sale. The domain was EXACTLY sold at $45,444 and it was through Sedo domain marketplace. There are only 26 such LLL.com domains and I think it is a fair price for both seller and the buyer. It is also brandable LLL.com domain as well.
Have acquired InsuranceComparison.com

I acquired the domain, InsuranceComparison.com recently and it took me nearly one month to close this deal. I have sold a few insurance domains and I like that niche.
I am planning to develop this domain, InsuranceComparison.com into a business website but it would need extensive project to do such a website, I believe. Do you recommend/know any business website developer who could create an insurance comparison website?
I am thinking of using subdomains such as
Car.InsuranceComparison.com, Health.InsuranceComparison.com, Pet.InsuranceComparison.com
Home.InsuranceComparison.com
Travel.InsuranceComparison.com
Life.InsuranceComparison.com
etc…
What do you think of such subdomain creation? Would you suggest creating directories instead of subdomains?
