I was one of the 3 bidders who bid against each other to acquire the domain forum, DomainState.com a few months ago and I lost the auction to a well known businessman from the domain industry. I visited the forum a few days ago and there was no change with the same template etc… But today I checked it again and they have changed the template of the domain forum and it seemed to me like they have also let the search engines such as Google to index the forum posts and threads.

Previous owners would like the domain forum to be private and they didn’t allow the search engines to crawl the posts and threads at the forum. There was only one link indexed at Google previously. But today , there are 166 links being indexed (visit this (domainstate.com forum indexed ) link to see it) and according to my forum experience, over next few days, there would be more and more indexed posts and threads in Google.

DomainState.com domain forum being sold to Trellian (Above.com)

A few hours ago, the auction for DomainState.com domain forum was over and it was sold to the Trellian (Above.com) and I do believe that it would be a great acquisition for the Trellian because they could promote their domain related services such as KeywordDiscovery, Above.com etc… more effectively to the domainers.

I participated in the auction but it seemed the Trellian company was quite determined to acquire the domain forum.

I hope that the forum would grow evenĀ further and domainers would still get benefits from the shared knowledge of the current owners.

I noticed today that Dnforum had been offering free platinum membership for all domainstate members for one week. I don’t know how the current owners of domainstate will respond to this but the domainstate members would be benefiting free platinum membership at dnforum.

It was stated that “welcoming all current and past Domainstate members to Dnforum.com”.

If someone signs up with Domainstate today and then registers with dnforum, will he or she be eligible? I am not sure. May be possible.

Is there any possiblity that Dnforum would be offering free platinum membership to Nampros members in near future as well?

DomainState.com going to one of the current owner?

I got an email stating that there had been an offer of $20,000 from one of the current owners to own the forum DomainState.com outright. Obviously they would prefer for the forum to be run by one of the current owners rather than someone else as it had been the baby of three of them.

I had initial interest to acquire the forum if around $10,000 but now I decided not to go over $20,000. They are cancelling the auction which was the original plan. I also would like the forum to be run by one of the previous owners as I found the forum so rich of the domain knowledge and they had been giving straight opinions and support for the members.

I hope the forum will thrive on.

Domain State Site Pending Sale

Domainers received a message informing them the site Domainstate.com was on the block and looking to sell its site/domain. But if the site has beenĀ  blocked by Google, how much money can it expect to get from a savvy domainer? Alex cites 235 sites linking in and a 67,520 traffic rank. How relevant can Google be then with domains achieving such stats?

Or did they block google to index the forum’s pages and if so, why would they want to do this?

“After over 7 years of running Domainstate we have decided to sell the site. It is with a sad heart that we have realised that it is no longer something
we can commit the same level of energy as we once did. Our aim is to have the site sold within the next couple of weeks and we are considering offers now “.
