Ever rush to the domain search screen at your favorite registrar only to wonder just how many of your fellow domainers are jumping on the same keyword bandwagon? Verisign is helping domainers think out of the type in domain name search box and drop list.  This is also a valuable reminder of key word and tags to be used as density and subject reference for SEO and content building brainstorming. The domain tag cloud is in beta, but one look instantly tells the story. Not only can portfolio domainers see what names are trending for auction consideration and flipping purposes, but they can see what niches might be walking out of the everyday into the special. Common keywords, like “gold” or “shop” or “play” can mix with whatever the day’s mix in blogs, news, search engine trending and type in domain searches yields. A very visual, instant thinking cap with big eyeball appeal. Bravo, Verisign.

 

Top domain sales with “First” keyword

I sometimes like First + keyword .com especially if the keyword is strong.

I have some First + keyword domains including the domain FirstBlackjack.com which I acquired recently. I found the following domain sales interesting.

Pilot.com sold for $300,000. Another xxx,xxx domain sale

It is always interesting to see a domain sold for six figures or more. Recently Files.com sold for over $700,000. Today, I notice the domain, Pilot.com being sold for $300,000. The domain, Pilot.com is sold at Sedo domain marketplace and it is an interesting high profile domain sale.

When I saw the keyword “pilot“, my initial impression was that the EXACT search for the keyword would not be more than 100,000. But when I actually looked at the google keyword tool, I found out that there are around 300,000 EXACT searches per month on average for the keyword “pilot” just in Google. There were around 165,000 EXACT searches last month for the keyword “pilot”. The CPC (cost per click) is around $1.15 per click.

It was a very good domain sale for the seller, in my opinion.

Another “Super” domain sold in xx,xxx range

I mentioned yesterday that there were 3 “Super” domain sales. I found another “Super” domain sale in xx,xxx range. The domain is SuperPlumbing.com sold for $10,000 and it has been sold at Sedo. I wonder someone might be collecting “Super” domain names like this as well as the other 3 “Super” domains sold (supermechanics.com , superelectricians.com and superpainters.com) or may be it might be just coincidence.

They are good domain sales for the seller/sellers.

Another “i” + keyword ( iKeyword.com) domain sale in xx,xxx

There was another iKeyword.com ( “i” + keyword) domain sale at Sedo and it was iPlan.com which went for nearly $12,000 (exactly at $11,900).

“i” + keyword domains are in good demand and we have sold similar domain in x,xxx range few days ago.

Keyword domains ending with “z” at the end. Some interesting domain sales.

I have seen many websites where they use domains comprising of keywords with “Z” at the end. They use “z” as a cheaper substitute for “s” at the end of the keywords  and some of the examples are Videoz.com, Formz.com, LessonplanZ.com etc…

I look at previous domain sales and there are a few interesting domain sales with keywords ending with “z”.

They are:

Dreamerz.com sold for $25,000 in 2008.

Stockz.com sold for $25,000 in 2007.

I do think that domains with keywords + “z” at the end are very much “Brandable” and people could also easily remember them.
