Sec.de Germany domain sold in six figure range

It was interesting to see a six figure domain sale of Sec.de for 136,850 EURO (around $177,126.75 US dollars). The domain was sold at the Sedo domain marketplace. Even though it was a good LLL.de, I thought it was a bit too much for such a .de domain because I believed even Sec.com would not be worth that much money.
A good domain sale for the domain seller.

Verisign Raising Rates

Causing a ruffle in the domainer feathers this week was the news that Verisign was originating an across the board name registration/renewal hike. This price increase comes not at a bad time in the economy, but at a questionable time for lower end domainers struggling to retain the bulk of the names in their portfolios.
Verisign resellers (known or unknown registry holders) and tier priced administrators of select name and TLD portfolio based holdings are concerned. Industry watchers speculate that intrinsic and value based domain registration prices may eventuate. Will other resellers be affected? How will price controls for domains fluctuate in future?
Domainers are considering how the pricing will affect the domaining market as a whole. Challenges to the Verisign price monopoly are rife. Reaction to the news ranges from letting domains drop to bulk renewal before the price goes up officially. Critics demand justification for this rise in price, virtual expenses being what they are.

Sedo reported 440info143bizportfolio.com domain sale over $25,000

It was strange to see the domain sale which was reported by Sedo. The domain reported was 440info143bizportfolio.com and Sedo mentioned that the domain was sold for low xx,xxx range (exactly at $25,200). I think Sedo staff made a mistake in reporting this domain sale because no body would pay that much money for such a crappy domain name.
I believe Sedo has brokered the domain sale of 440 .info and 143 .biz domain porfolio for $25,200.
Mind.cn sold for $20,000

I haven’t seen any .cn domains sold in xx,xxx range previously and I now notice a domain sale of Mind.cn for $20,000. It was a very good domain sale for a .cn (China extension) domain. I believe it is sold to an end user. The domain, Mind.cn was sold at the Sedo domain marketplace. The domain made me think of my domain sale, Mindpedia.com for x,xxx range a few months ago.
I looked at the previous .cn domain sales and found out another two xx,xxx range .cn domain sales. They are Rugby.cn sold for $25,000 (2007) and Forums.cn sold for $10,000 (2009).

The one word dictionary domain, Rage.com was sold in mid xx,xxx very recently and it was a nice domain sale. “Rage” is a commonly used dictionary word and the domain was sold at the Sedo domain marketplace. The domain has been registered since 1995 and it is about 15 years old domain name. The domain was sold exactly for $49,999.
When I looked at the Google stats, there were over 300,000 EXACT searches per month for the keyword “rage” and CPC (cost per click) is only $0.39 per click. It is a respectable search volume and the price is fair for both the buyer and the seller.

Wow 888.mx sold for $10,000

Today, I saw the domain sale of 888.mx for $10,000 and it makes me think of the .mx domains’ future. The domain is sold via the Sedo domain marketplace and I haven’t seen .mx domain sales in xx,xxx until now. The domain extension, .MX is open to anyone to register just a few months ago and it is a domain extension for a populated country, Mexico. Is it an end user domain sale? Possibly. There are possible end users including 888.com betting company and I am sure there are more companies with “888″ keyword.
When it was open for registeration, I was not so keen to get .mx domains and as a result I only have Tourism.mx . I think my domain, Tourism.mx will have some demand for the end users in the tourism industry.
What do you think of iOdds.com ?

Yesterday, the domain, iOdds.com was acquired and I wonder what you would think of this domain regarding end user value. As you know, betting industry is a billion dollar business and recently Slots.com sold nearly $6 million US dollars.
I plan it to develop into a site similar to OddsChecker.com and I appreciate any suggestions regarding site development, scripts etc…
If anyone is interested to acquire this domain, iOdds.com , I may consider a good decent offer. Otherwise I would develop this domain.
