Is ICANN XXX Crazy?

Vaunted and august Internet governing body ICANN seems to have its feathers in a knot over the latest TLD trying to make it to the Show as a top level domain. Avid domain speculators and adult name domain owners are watching the latest reports to determine which way the metronome is leaning. The ICANN  “relaxation” of top level domain application rules may prove too much for some online groups.

The triple X connotations are obvious to anyone over ten years old, so the ICANN group has its hands full trying to contain web possibilities, Many career domainers can’t believe the staid ICANN body  approved a commercial entity that will legitimize and focus pornography and be viewed as a negative force on line for misogyny, the rights of women, and ongoing freedom of the press issues.

ICANN isn’t completely sold on .xxx yet. The group must first conduct  due diligence  of applicant ICM’s business plan for the domain.  The ICANN board will then review the contract proposed for the operation of the .xxx domain. The issue will most probably go to ICANN’s Governmental Advisory Committee, next scheduled to meet in December in Colombia.

If ICM gets impatient they can talk to the other derby losers for the ICANN TLD apply,-pay-and-wait process. Remember those dot-kids and other domain rejections ICANN so astutely rendered judgement on? Maybe ICANN may realize they were wrong about those, too.

PhP2press.com could be a conversion tool destination and online forum site for database based sites moving from php to WordPress based blogs. The adult name market might be able to use sextistics.com, an information portal name if there ever was one. Sextelecast and a large host of sex- starting names are feature on auction at Pool tomorrow. Sexprix.com and sexinthewild.com among them. Many Skype- names available tomorrow, a possible copyright hazard, including skype4ipod.com, as well as XBoxGold.com.

Rankmymobile.com could tap a review market for mobile phones and portable devices. Rapheadradio.com could be a beat site for new tubes for emerging rap artists or a grooving social portal for music fans. Rapidbooster sounds like a Star Trek widget, and physio-call.com could be a Q & A site for medical questions and prescription data.

City-zine.com makes a possible Geo portal template site. Decktip.com is a great name for a home hobby upgrade site. XGTP.com is a four character shorty domain available tomorrow. Xd49 and Xd38 also come to the auction block. 53ct.com and 528x  also vend tomorrow at Pool.

Will the Public be Successful in Preventing the .XXX Web Domain?

A former employee of U.S Department of Justice located in Nashville, Tennessee is asking individuals to protest against the use of domains that will be used solely for the purpose to promote pornographic websites.

This will be approximately the 3^rd time that the idea for the establishment of .XXX domain has come about. If you have an opinion on this domain you will have until exactly May, 10th to express them before ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names & Numbers) will decide whether or not to allow the establishment of the domain. They are reviewing all input from a variety of sources to determine what the appropriate action would be when it comes to the .XXX domain extension.
