Have acquired InsuranceComparison.com

I acquired the domain, InsuranceComparison.com recently and it took me nearly one month to close this deal. I have sold a few insurance domains and I like that niche.

I am planning to develop this domain, InsuranceComparison.com into a business website but it would need extensive project to do such a website, I believe. Do you recommend/know any business website developer who could create an insurance comparison website?

I am thinking of using subdomains such as

Car.InsuranceComparison.com, Health.InsuranceComparison.com, Pet.InsuranceComparison.com
Home.InsuranceComparison.com
Travel.InsuranceComparison.com
Life.InsuranceComparison.com

etc…

What do you think of such subdomain creation? Would you suggest creating directories instead of subdomains?

Acquired Kebab.com . I enjoy having “chicken kebab” at times.

I have acquired Kebab.com and I would like to tell you that I enjoy having “chicken kebab” at times. I really don’t like “doner kebab” because it is greasy but do enjoy “chicken kebab” which I think is much healthier than the other one.

Kebab” is becoming more and more popular worldwide and in Germany, it is becoming the favorite fast food. Read the article here=> Doner kebab becomes Germany’s favorite fast food . The article states that there are around 15,500 Kebab Shops/Restaurants just in Germany alone. According to that figure, I estimate ther are around 100,000 to 200,000 Kebab shops/Restaurants worldwide or may be even more.

I compared “Kebab” keyword with “Slots” (Slots.com sold for 5.5 million recently) for comparing trends. I understand “slots” keyword may generate more revenue but I compare them for Google trend purposes because many of us are still talking about Slots.com domain sale. If you look at the trends, “Kebab” trend would surpass “slots” in coming years if the trend continue like that. To be honest, due to increasing popularity of “Kebab”, there is no reason not to surpass the keyword trend of “slots” in next 2 or 3 years.kebab trend

I am planning to develop Kebab.com into a Kebab directory where kebab shops/restaurants around the world may list in the Kebab directory. I wonder any of you know any successful “food or restaurant” directories. I appreciate if someone suggests any good business (professional looking) directory script or suitable web developer for such purposes. (not the common PHPLD etc… kind of scripts)

Will I keep on making mistakes at Sedo? Today, I just started another low reserve auction AGAIN!!

I made a mistake a few weeks ago when I decided to try my luck by starting a very low reserve auction at Sedo. The domain name was WebcamPlace.com and the auction was started at $100. There was no more bid and I ended up selling the domain with a small loss.

Today, I have started a premium domain, low reserve auction at Sedo AGAIN!!! The domain name is PetInsuranceComparison.com and there are around 30,000 EXACT searches per month for the keywords and CPC (cost per click) is around $14 per click. I value the domain in xx,xxx range but I am trying my luck again. You may visit the Sedo domain auction here. I am not sure this time now because last time there were no more bids even at $100.

Let’s see. May visit the petinsurancecomparison.com auction here.

Slots.com got bids of over 4 million dollars. SLOTS and SLOT are both LIVE trademarks.

There are only 2 days left for the auction of the domain, SLOTS.com which is a premium gambling or betting domain name. Current highest bid is over 4 million US dollars (exactly at $4,050,000). There are 2 bids until now and the bids do not meet the reserve price.

I look at the US trademark website for one domain I am looking to buy. The domain, I like to buy is a generic one word domain but frustratingly the keyword is trademarked for some other different industry. While at the trademark website, I searched for “slot” keyword (because I also own SlotWebsite.com and GreatSlot.com domains ) and interestingly I found out that both “slot” and “slots” are trademarked for different industry. Hopefully those trademark owners would not abuse their positions to hijack the domain name. In my opinion, even if they make the case against the domain, they may not win it because their marks are not related to betting industry.

Finally I have developed one of my domains myself

I am a part-time domainer and usually don’t have enough time to develop domains into websites because my full time job takes around 48 hours a week or more. Some weeks, I work over 72 hours per week at my full time job especiatlly when I have to do oncalls.

Today, I have some spare time and have develop one of my domains into a website. The domain is Antigua.info and the full developed website is

www.Antigua.info

The site is for sale currently and I am thinking of high x,xxx – xx,xxx range because similar GEO domains (no websites) sold in xx,xxx range.

I appreciate your feedback for the website improvement.

I had conjuntivitis but still managed to win the domain I like, FootballScore.com at Latona’s domain auction

I had a conjuntivitis and sore left eye and it was “irritant conjuntivitis” according to the symptoms. I opened my eyes when having shower and hot water with some shampoo entered my eyes mostly into left eye. Since then got a red eye and I bought some eye drops to soothe it and it is getting better now. I don’t stay online more than a few minutes at each time.

But I still managed to win “FootballScore.com” at Latona’s auction. “FootballScores.com” sold at Moniker for nearly $40,000 in 2008. I always wanted to develop a live score site such as LiveScore.com and I needed a good domain. My main interest is football and ideally like to develop a “live football score” website. I would develop this domain unless I get very strong offer around the price of its plural counterpart domain sale price in 2008.

I think some domains ending with “site” or “website” have significant values.

I like some domains ending with “site” or “website” at the end. I recently sold a “website.com” domain which I bought low xxx for mid x,xxx range. I respect the privacy of the domain buyer and therefore I would not mention the domain name.

Let’s look at a working website just as an example and we would choose the site JobSite.co.uk .

JobSite.co.uk is an employment website where people could find jobs or vacancies from different employers and recruitment agencies. They sponsor one of the UK premier league teams and I imagine it would cost them substantial amount of money, may be a few million pounds per year to sponsor the team.

Its Alexa Rank  is over 7,000 and in the UK, it is ranked 307. Compete.com Ranking is over 50,000.

I have a few “site” or “website” domains.

e.g.

CasinoSite.com

CasinoWebsite.com

ArticleWebsite.com

DirectoryWebsite.com and more. I really like first two domains and they are pretty good domains for development. I have got a few offers but would not sell them unless someone comes up with a pretty good offer. I have seen a few domains, with “site” or “website” at the end, sold in the range of xx,xxx. I would not be surprised to see such domain sales at much higher prices in near future.

Adultmatch.com sold for nearly $100,000

A dating domain , AdultMatch.com was recently sold for nearly $100,000 (exactly at $95,000). The domain is a great dating domain and the domain sale implies that there is considerable demand for quality “dating” domains. The domain , AdultMatch.com was sold at the Sedo domain marketplace.

We will look at some stats related to the domain and its keyword. The domain, AdultMatch.com has been registered since 1997 and there were two “drops” in the past. There are around 22,000 EXACT searches per month for the keyword “Adult Match” in Google. I do believe the domain has been sold to an end user looking at the stats.

Italy domain sold nearly $44,000; risultati.it domain sold in mid xx,xxx

I haven’t seen many Italian domains sold in five or six figure range. Recently risultati.it was sold in mid xx,xxx range at  32,000 Euros (nearly $44,000). It was an intesting Italian domain sale and it made me to do some research regarding the keyword “ risultati“.

I looked at Google and found out that the keyword “risultati” appeared nealry 60 million times in Google. The Italian word “risultati” means “results” in English and I thought it might be good for “scores” website.

When I visited risultati.it, it was fully developed website and it looked very much similar to Livescore.com website. It made me think whether it was the website sale rather than a domain sale. It is hard to know now.
